The Subaru Share the Love® Event Has Impacted Over 100,000 Animals to Date
For the fourteenth consecutive year, the ASPCA was one of four national charities to participate in the Subaru Share the Love ® Event. The campaign took place between November 18, 2021, and January 3, 2022, during which Subaru donated $250 to the customer's choice of charities for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased at 633 participating Subaru retailers nationwide. As a result, Subaru helped raise awareness for animals in need and nearly $2.4 million for our nation’s most vulnerable animals.
Throughout 2021, the ASPCA collaborated with Subaru to distribute nearly $600,000 of grant funding to 153 animal welfare organizations throughout the U.S. This funding supported a variety of pet events in partnership with local Subaru retailers. In addition to adoptions, many of these events provided critical services for animals in need, including microchipping, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries and more. The 2021 program positively impacted a total of 8,514 animals.
Since the inception of our partnership with Subaru in 2008, the ASPCA has received over $33 million in vital funds, which has helped impact the rescue, transport, well-being and adoption of nearly 104,000 animals across the United States.
“The Subaru Share the Love Event demonstrates what is possible when compassionate communities, individuals, animal shelters, and Subaru retailers across America join forces to help vulnerable animals access critical services and find safe and loving homes,” said Matt Bershadker, ASPCA president and CEO. “This longstanding partnership has assisted more than 100,000 animals to date—a significant milestone we are thrilled to celebrate.”
We thank Subaru of America for another successful year. We also would like to thank everyone who supported the ASPCA through not only the 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event, but every event since this collaboration began in 2008.
