Jillian
Meet Jillian! She’s a silly, adorable pup with a curious personality. She came to the Behavioral Rehabilitation Center from a shelter in Tennessee where she was brought in as a stray. She is looking for a home where she can go for walks, snuggle with her humans and play with a canine companion or two!
Big fan of: Walks! Jillian (or Jilly as she is fondly referred to) is an exuberant walker, taking in all the sniffs along the way. She is great in the car and always up for a ride since it might bring her to another walking adventure! Jillian enjoys sitting close to her people and getting pets, and she also loves hanging with her dog friends, whether it is playing in a fenced-in yard or going for a walk together. In play groups, she is energetic and enjoys zooming around, chasing her friends and exploring the yard—though her energy can be too much for more sensitive pups and she can be easily overwhelmed by larger dogs.
Working on: Her confidence around new people. Jillian would love to have a familiar person and dog present to make the transition easier. She continues to become more comfortable meeting new people, especially when they have a leash in one hand and some Spam in the other! We don’t know Jillian’s past or if she has been exposed to home life, but our staff have been working hard to have Jilly prepared for the transition to a new home by exposing her to a crate where she settles and chews on toys and bones.
Dream home: Jillian would love an adopter that understands that going to a new home can be scary, so she may need some time to settle in and show her true self—but it’s worth the wait! Jillian’s dream home would have a dog friend or two to show her the ropes. She would love for her new active family to enjoy spending time outside, especially going for walks in the woods and at parks. A sense of humor and sense of adventure would be a bonus!
