Donor Advised Funds
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple way to manage your charitable giving and help save lives by recommending gifts to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ® (ASPCA ® ) for use in its programs and services.
The ASPCA does not directly manage Donor Advised Funds; however, DAFs can be established at many financial institutions or community foundations. The ASPCA doesn’t give individual tax advice, so please always consult your professional tax advisor on how a Donor Advised Fund might impact you specifically. Generally speaking, contributions and/or grants from a donor’s DAF can be made to one or more charitable organizations, and a donor may receive benefits including:
- An immediate federal tax deduction generally available in the year that contributions to the DAF are made in accordance with applicable law
- The flexibility of having one source to coordinate charitable giving, without many of the costs and administrative obligations of a private foundation
If you do choose to make a gift to the ASPCA through a DAF, please let us know by calling our Member Services Team at 800-628-0028 so that we can thank you for your commitment to animals.
You can also choose to have any remaining DAF funds distributed to the ASPCA after your lifetime by naming the ASPCA as a beneficiary of all or a portion of remaining funds. If you choose to do so, please use the following legal name and tax identification to identify the ASPCA:
